McKenzie County Ag Expo
Watford City, North Dakota
The McKenzie County Ag Expo (MCAE) is a facility that includes a 112,000 sq. ft building featuring a 53,000 sq. ft indoor livestock arena, 3 large exhibit halls, a 2,200 seat outdoor grandstand and picnic/beer garden area with a full service kitchen/concessions attached.
Solution: The MCAE building “Where Agriculture Meets Community” is a multipurpose venue that will be hosting a wide variety of events throughout the year. These events include wedding receptions, commercial trade shows, 4H and FFA livestock shows and the McKenzie County Fair. To be prepared for such a variety of events the AV systems were designed for ease of use and flexibility. The heart of the audio system is comprised of Biamp Tesira processing, Community speakers and Community ALC amplifiers. Inputs include Shure digital wireless microphones, auxiliary and HDMI inputs and a multitude of wired inputs. The brains of the video system are built on Extron’s XTP matrix system and Extron IPCP Control systems. Multiple inputs in each venue can be matrixed to a variety of outputs which include (2) 9000 lumen DLP laser projectors in each of the three exhibit halls. Each venue has a dedicated Extron control panel for efficient audio and video control while a master control panel is available for system wide changes. In addition, a dedicated iPad is available to run any room wirelessly on the building’s network. Paging and background music are also available throughout the building. The end result provides endless opportunities for the MCAE to meet the needs and expectations of current and future customers.
